The Stuff of the Soul

QUESTION

“My beloved sister Fran, with whom I was very close, passed away on February 13, 2013, 2:10 am, from cancer at the age of 71.  Her husband Russ and I were with Fran when she passed.  During the last few minutes of her life, as she was breathing intermittently, both Russ and I saw a foggy mist drift up out of her mouth and it disappeared upward.  Russ said to me, ‘Did you see that?’  And I said, ‘Yes, I did.”  We talked a little about it after we went home.  I tried looking this up on the Internet, but there’s hardly anything about that.  Have you heard of this?  If there is anything you can tell us about it, we’d love to know.  Thank you for your writings and thank you for any information you can give us about the foggy mist.”....Holly

ANSWER

You are the second person this week to ask me about this.  What you saw was ecto-plasma. . . perhaps the stuff of the soul, perhaps what we look like in spirit, perhaps a covering for the soul.  Ecto-plasma is what people in India report leaving the body of the deceased when the corpse is burned outside on a funeral bier.  I wonder if it is more of a shield or covering, because those who see it say that after burning the corpse, it can cling to rocks and trees and the edge of rivers/bushes, even far from the funeral site, as if cast off once its job is done.

Go back to the “Roaring Twenties” and before, when spiritualism was so popular and there were many mediums; during experiments where they blindfolded the medium, bound and gagged the individual, and then photographed this ecto-plasma oozing out of every orifice in their body.  I’ve seen it myself, almost as if a phantom form when I saw myself doing something in the future that I was already observing myself doing in the present (read my book Future Memory for more about this).  You might try googling this and see what comes up about ecto-plasma.  The British paranormal society/investigators have talked and written a lot about this.

Yes, what you saw is real.  Blessings, PMH
